Résumé : The multiscale and multi-physics nature of biological mechanisms calls for a truly interdisciplinary effort to devise effective techniques to analyze these complex phenomena. Specifically, numerous challenging issues arise when aiming to (I) set up a sound mathematical model, based on the biological and clinical literature; (II) develop new theoretical approaches and numerical methods; (III) design and implement flexible and efficient computational frameworks; (IV) verify, validate and account for uncertainties. In my talk I will present the main modelling and numerical challenges for different biomedical applications: from the eye to the digestive organs through the cardiovascular system.
